A little bit of wisdom

These are words to live by:A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised aglass of water and asked, "how heavy is this glass of water?" Answerscalled out ranged from 20g to 500g.The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It dependson how long you try to hold it." "If I hold it for a minute, that's nota problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my rightarm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance. In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier itbecomes." He continued, "And that's the way it is with stress management. If wecarry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on. As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding itagain. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden.""So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down.Don'tcarry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever burdens you'recarrying now, let them down for a moment if you can.
Relax; pick them up later after you've rested. Life is short. Enjoy it!"And then he shared some ways of dealing with the burdens of life:

Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the
statue.-

Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.-

Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in themiddle of it.-

Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their maker.-

If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.-

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.-

It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.-

Never buy a car you can't push.-

Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on.-

Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.-

Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.-

The second mouse gets the cheese.-

When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.-

Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.-

You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.-

Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.-

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names, and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.-

A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

Redneck Granny Rides Again

Don't tell anyone.
I call myself a redneck, however this term should be a redskin. I live in what was really the first red state Oklahoma. So Ha howard dean, ha terry mccaulley ha to you hillery clinton ha john kerry and the rest of you out of touch liberal slug trails. Ha I am a red person in a red state.
This p.c. crap just ticks me off. I am an Indian born in the United States of America. I was reared with Morals and Values. Contrary to what these leftist democrats say I don't go to church I don't drive a pickup with a gun rack in it. I don't hunt, rarely go fishing .
( found fishing interrupts my wine drinking. The dang things keep taking the bait)
I do rejoice in the season changes. I do worship in my way. I do build fires and rejoice in the privledge of a good old fashion stomp. I do celebrate the spirit of life.
However I do work every day. I make a living for my family.
For that I am blessed with many awesome things. I have lived a awesome life. I have worked in a man's world for a man's pay. I didn't have to ask some women's group for help getting there. I was a quota going in and an asset coming out. I have reared a family and have started on a second family. My adult children have work ethics. They have morals values and make us proud. We have struggled to keep the wolf from the door at times. We have enjoyed the American dream. This is our life we have cried together laughed together and loved together. For anyone to stand up and tell anyone else I would not want to live that way, is a sin from the evil side of creation. Life is all anyone has. As for me I would not want to live in skin of most wealthy people. They are not happy who would want to live a life with no meaning.
I find it fascinating to see wealthy folks give away buckets of money so that they can be condescending to the little people. Hell I am not sure what a little person is. Is it someone that was born a dwarf or midget? Is it an elf or faerie? Could someone explain who the hell little people are. I for one stand 5ft 8in and by far am not little. I have walked where angels were the only ones that would go with me. I have faced down ugly situations.
"cops do that every day" I have often wondered what it would be like to live an insulated mundane life. Well who would want to live like that. Who would want their life to be normal.
quiet. Who would want to desire power over others? Who would want to live that way.
